Frederick E. Thalmann, Jr. (Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer) holds a BS in Finance from Syracuse University (1968) and served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Navy, including service in Vietnam. He began his investment career in 1970 with Marine Midland Bank in Troy, New York where he became Chief Investment Officer before joining Marine Midland’s institutional investment management group in New York City. In 1980, Mr. Thalmann joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust where he was responsible for assets over $1 billion which included corporate retirement funds, endowments, and international government agency portfolios. Mr. Thalmann joined the investment management consulting firm, Callan Associates, in 1982 where he served as Senior Vice President and East Coast Regional Manager. In 1984, he left Callan Associates to work with Alan Greenspan in establishing a new investment management company, which focused on obtaining investment management business from large pension funds. Mr. Thalmann joined The Boston Company in 1986 and transferred to its New York offices in April 1991, where he was President of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company of New York. In April 1996, he joined Jamison, Eaton & Wood as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.
